truth of christianity

What makes Christianity more right or true than any other religion out there? I know, I know, I'm a Christian, but still...it would be nice to see what ppl think abt convincing those outside the church that Christianity is the 'right' way, as well as strengthening personal faith...

How the Dinosaurs Died

The Bible says that when the flood waters came upon the Earth, all living things that have the breath of life were killed. While many of them drowned, some were encased in mud while still alive, as some fossils show. What they all had in common is that they died from lack of oxygen.

Paleontologists have long noted that many animal fossils are found with their heads thrown back. This is called the "dead bird" position. Some paleontologists assumed that the fossilized creature had fallen into the water when it died where the current pushed its head back. Others suggested that when rigor mortis set in, the head was pulled back. A third suggestion was that as the body decayed, drying tendons in the back of the neck pulled it back.

A little research ruled out rigor mortis as the cause of the "dead bird" position. Experiments using tendons from several different animals ruled out the "drying tendons" explanation. Finally, a credible explanation was found. Nerve damage. Specifically, the kind of nerve damage caused by lack of oxygen. While there are several causes for hypoxia, the most common cause is drowning.

That the "dead bird" position is so common among fossils paints a picture of the death that was a result of God's judgment in the Flood. His mercy to Noah shows us His love.

Question: Why didn't Noah bring the dinos in as God clearly instructed him to do?? ...or did He?? Hmm, something to ponder about.. ;)

As for me, my faith comes from the observation that, in terms of their doctrine, the other religions just don't make sense and Christianity does.

Many times I've been somewhat drawn towards other religions because somehow, it seems very appealing, but I still stick to Christianity, and the reason is because I know what I believe is true.

Hope this helps, and keep the faith!!

there are many sects of christianity in churches. reason: beacuse just as the Bible speaks...people will be drawn to the teaching that tickles their ears or..dont interrupt their way of life. catholics worship the virgin mary. we ARE NOT to worship anyone beside the Lord. the mormons belive that John Smith is the new christ (per say) the bible speaks about there being false profits and false christs. they believe the new heaven will be in oklahoma( i think). they also say they also teach from "the Holy Bible". they came around to my house and i had question for them ..."why does the 4 books of the new testament say christ said something different when He died upon the cross. The leader of the mormons said."i didnt know it did. If anyone says it doesnt...hasnt read their scripture. theres also a church below me that has a pastor that has been remarried and his wife still alive. um......need i say more. im not sure if it was because of marital unfaithfulness...but i hope for their sake it was. people dont Like the Holy Bible is why there is so many translations. but the scripture tells us about changing words in the scripture......i'll let u find that. I guess people think thats ok too..since theres so many out there thats done it. if u want the truth about the words changed and ommited out of these Bibles out there..email me.....vengance01@hotmail.com. i will give you proof to back it up of what i say. No, christianity isnt the only way thats right .....because we dont stand strong on the scripture. its as wrong as any other, if you twist the words to suit yourself.

the scripture says women are to keep silent in church. why arent they? (i will say they are correct, but do they know why?) the scripture says this was commanded by the law. read it for yourself. the law was abolished by Christs death. PEOPLE BETTER READ IT CLOSE IF THEY ARE GONNA LIVE IT!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful question. I hope all who would claim Christianity are this inquisitive.

Answer: First, I would I would provide a argument that there indeed is "a god" of some sort. Three of the most commonly used are "Design","Cause and Effect", and "Morality". For a Full discussion on each of these please visit ""www.apologeticspress.com"". When that point has been given some time for consideration, I would then move into proving that the God that does exist is indeed the God of the Bible and not one of the other thousands of "gods" that man has came up with. The main arguments used to "prove" this are as follows.

1. The Bible. The 66 books that make up the Bible were written by approximately 40 different writers over a period of about 1,600 years (1500 B.C. to A.D. 100) and holds complete unity in its original form. This is unique to the Bible and no other book.

2. Jesus Christ. J. Barton Payne’s Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy lists 1,239 prophecies in the Old Testament and 578 prophecies in the New Testament, for a total of 1,817. These encompass 8,352 verses. Thats alot of Prophecies to be fufilled by the coming of one person.

3.Scientific Foreknowledge. This is the strongest out of the three in my opinion. There are so many verses in the Bible that state scientific facts hundreds and even thousands of years before they were even discovered by man. See the following article detailing this. ""http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/2191"

There are arguments and this list is by no means exhausted. I have not went into great detail in explaining each of these because this is already done elsewhere on the internet. For further information please visit """www.apologeticspress.com"" and "www.christiancourier.com"" or email me at ""Srekinslives@yahoo.com""

I do agree with you and visited the link written by you.I came to know many new and interesting things through this link and am able to understand the real meaning of Christianity.I think the third point, scientific foreknowledge is the strongest point to hold the truth.
