Is the Bible Accurate?

Postby mrksem454 on Fri May 14, 2010 8:31 pm

Yes. Now that we got that out of the way... I am kidding of course. The truth is that the bible is accurate and there are reasons for saying so; let us take a look at some of these reasons:

1. Historical evidence. If you are wondering, "Is the bible accurate?" then you should know that there are many forms of evidence to its validity. One of the strongest bits of proof has to do with the annals of history. When you read the secular historian Josephus' writings you find many things that bear out and give credence to not only the Bible but the God man Jesus as well. There are many other secular historians who correspond and validate the bible's claims and some of these are Josephus, Origen, Eusibeus, and others.

2. Archeological evidence. Is the bible accurate? Well, take a look at the findings of the last 100 years, it all bears out the truths of the bible. The one archeological find that stands out above the rest is the Dead Sea Scrolls. These scrolls were found in the Qumran community of the Dead Sea area. They scrolls show word for word evidence backing up the bible.

3. Personal or subjective evidence. This is the "least scientific" bit the most profound way to tell that the bible is accurate - test the truths for yourself and see. If you really want to find out then give it a try for yourself and you will see. I am confident about this because that is exactly what happened to me and so many others that I know.

I think that it is important to keep in mind that the ORIGINAL writings of the Godinspired men are the ones that are without errors. Translations are man made, and because of that, they may have some errors (the more liberal the translator, the more errors are present in the translation)
Therefore, a diligent Bible student must try to compare certain, more complicated passages, with original Greek or Aramaic manuscripts.

I think there is a some mistakes done by the writer but as per a holy book of Christian and It is a way of heaven so I really don't think that it's not accurate. god always gives a better way of life. So there is no doubt about The bible. It is a speech of Jesus criest.

It is made to represent the world to a certain degree of accuracy before it is decided not made. However, classical Christianity rests on the assurance that the Bible is completely accurate. It may contain statements that are figures of speech, non-technical descriptions, or difficult to understand. But the real errors would fall into another category type.
